Research Libraries in the 21st Century

"Research Libraries in the 21st Century" was the topic for the third annual University Librarian's Lecture on the afternoon of Thursday 1 September 2011.

Melbourne University Librarian Philip Kent drew on learnings from a mid-year trip to Oxford, Harvard, Cornell and Stanford universities and visits with other leading thinkers in the field.

The lecture was introduced by Andrew Kenyon, Professor of Law and a Director of the Centre for Media and Communications Law in the Melbourne Law School. Professor Kenyon chairs the University's Library and Academic Resources Committee (LARC).
