ERC lift renovations
31 May to September 2010
From Monday 31 May 2010 until early September, the ERC will have no lift while its current one is being replaced.
The following strategies will be implemented during this period:
- Library material retrieval service for students and others with mobility difficulties
- Self Service Machines moved to Levels 4 and 5 for students to self checkin
- No Bonus (inter-library borrowing scheme) collection or retrievals
- Reduced Inter-Library Loans availability
The Library is negotiating with Property & Campus Services to have an alternative mechanical method of moving materials between floors of the ERC. Currently it's not clear if some sort of substitute lift will be available to us, but if there is one it is very likely to be limited in capacity and time of operation. It certainly will not be available from 31 May. Other strategies may be implemented as the lift replacement project progresses.
