This presentation will explore the importance of publishing, building a track record and career development. It will examine the broader issues relating to publishing in the current climate and publishing options that are available. Key tools to search for peer-reviewed articles/journals will be identified and the importance of publication metrics for individual researchers will be covered. Issues relating to manuscript preparation and submission such as working with coauthors and collaborators will also be examined.
