Library Redevelopments Unit

The aim of the Library Redevelopments Unit is to work with Property and Campus Services through every phase of a major or minor Library redevelopment.

Property and Campus Services project manage the redevelopments and take overall responsibility for each project. Information about how this is achieved can be found on the PCS website.

Property and Campus Services assigns a Project Manager to each redevelopment.

All library redevelopments also involve expert input from Associate Professor Peter Jamieson, who is the Policy Adviser to the Provost.  Associate Professor Peter Jamieson is involved in a range of initiatives to improve the quality of the student on-campus experience.  He is currently leading the University's commitment to the development of learning spaces by creating a broader understanding of the entire campus as a learning environment, which includes library spaces.

The Library Redevelopment team manages the projects from the perspective of the Library as client, including following up with Property and Campus Services about issues that arise both during the project and in the project defects period.

We also act as a service provider for project outcomes and are responsible for negotiating with relevant Library managers to ensure that library work commitments to the project are effectively identified, resourced and delivered.

The team often works with Library senior managers, relevant Faculty academic and student service representatives, library staff and other stakeholders as required.
