Who is an alumnus?

Membership of the University of Melbourne alumni community is free and extended to all those who have successfully completed a University of Melbourne accredited, Award-level* course (including Professional and Specialist Certificates of 25 points or more), been awarded an honorary degree, completed at least one year of full-time study at the University, or in the case of international students, completed a semester-length study abroad program at the University.

*Award courses are those that lead to a formal award of the University as determined by the Academic Board. These award courses require the obtainment of a minimum of 25 points.

Access to electronic resources

You can have access to a range of popular electronic databases which span a wide range of subject areas.

Currently available databases

The cost is $20 for 12 months' access from the date of payment. No e-books are available as part of this package.

You will need to create an Alumni Portal account first. Then, once you have paid the annual subscription fee, you will be able to access the databases through the Alumni Portal.

Borrowing

You can purchase a concession-priced library membership to borrow physical books and CDs in-person at our Libraries. Please note that your previous library record must be in good standing in order for you to join the library as an alumnus .

The cost of a membership is $44.00 for 3 months, $65.00 for 6 months or $130.00 for 1 year.

You can register and pay in person at the Baillieu, Law, Giblin Eunson or ERC libraries by EFTPOS or credit card (we do not accept American Express or Diners Club).
